In the colder months of December, January, February, as well as during the warmer periods of June, July, and August, your flight from Kathmandu to Lukla will follow a direct route. However, in the busier seasons of March, April, May, September, October, and November, flights to Lukla may be rerouted from Manthali due to congestion at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we'll escort you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for a breathtaking 40-minute flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla. From Lukla, embark on a scenic 3-hour trek to Phakding, passing through charming villages like Chaurikharka along the way. Phakding serves as the point of embarkation for all treks in the Everest region, offering a bustling market where you can find everything from trekking gear to local souvenirs. Once in Phakding, take some time to explore the town, making sure to visit the enchanting Rimishung Monastery.
Upon arrival, we'll ensure your permits are registered at Sagarmatha National Park, marking the official beginning of our journey. Our trail winds through lush jungle terrain, offering glimpses of the majestic Mount Everest towering in the distance. With each step, we'll immerse ourselves deeper into the natural beauty of the region, pressing onward until we reach Namche Bazaar - a vibrant mountain town known as the gateway to Everest. Along the way, keep your senses alert for the sights and sounds of the Himalayan wilderness, promising an unforgettable adventure ahead.
On this day, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Namche Bazaar, where bustling streets are lined with cozy cafes, charming restaurants, and intriguing shops. Explore the rich local culture by venturing to attractions such as the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center, traditional Sherpa settlements, or serene Buddhist monasteries. With a plethora of options to choose from, embrace the opportunity to absorb the unique ambiance and acclimate to the altitude, setting the stage for the adventures that lie ahead.
On Day 4 of your trek from Namche Bazaar to Pangboche, you'll bid farewell to the bustling town of Namche and traverse alongside the Dudh Koshi River, passing through rhododendron forests and Sherpa villages. En route, you'll encounter the iconic Tengboche Monastery, a spiritual sanctuary with stunning mountain views. Finally, you'll arrive in the tranquil village of Pangboche, nestled amidst towering peaks, where you can rest and admire the breathtaking scenery before continuing your journey deeper into the Everest region.
Embarking from Pangboche, we ascend to the awe-inspiring heights of Ama Dablam, reaching an elevation of 5,120 meters (16,797 feet). The journey to the summit offers unparalleled panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape, with towering peaks and pristine valleys stretching as far as the eye can see. After basking in the majesty of Ama Dablam, we descend back to Pangboche, our hearts filled with the memories of this unforgettable adventure.
On this day, we bid farewell to Pangboche and begin our descent towards Namche Bazaar, situated at an altitude of 3,440 meters (11,285 feet). The trail takes us through picturesque landscapes, with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and lush valleys. As we trek back to Namche Bazaar, we reflect on the incredible journey we've undertaken, cherishing the memories created along the way.
Embarking on the final leg of our journey, we depart from Namche Bazaar and make our way back to Lukla, situated at an altitude of 2,850 meters (9,350 feet). The trail descends gradually, offering glimpses of the stunning Himalayan landscape one last time. As we reach Lukla, we reflect on the unforgettable experiences and breathtaking vistas encountered during our trek, bidding farewell to the majestic mountains with a sense of fulfillment and gratitude.
After our memorable trek, we board a scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu or Manthali, depending on the season. As we soar above the rugged terrain of the Himalayas, we bid farewell to the majestic peaks and valleys that have left an indelible mark on our journey. Arriving back in Kathmandu or Manthali, we carry with us cherished memories of our adventure in the Himalayas, ready to embark on the next chapter of our travels.
